Meet the Founder

Meri Khnkoyan
Founder & Primary Consultant
Meri was born in Armenia and immigrated to the United States at the age of six. She attended North Hollywood High School, where she studied alongside exceptionally talented classmates who went on to attend top-ten institutions like Harvard, MIT, and Stanford — giving her a firsthand view of the strategies and efforts that lead to those acceptances.
She attended CSUN for her Bachelor's in Business Law, with a minor in Writing & Rhetoric — originally on track to become a lawyer. While there, Meri served on the executive board of the Pre-Law Association, co-founded and led CSUN's Hidden Road Initiative, debated on the Speech & Debate team, and was nominated to the CSU Board of Trustees.
"I realized I was in love with learning the law — not practicing it. Helping students apply became my way of giving back."
During her sophomore year, Meri worked full-time at a personal injury law firm. That experience taught her she loved learning the law, but didn't want to practice it. Out of a desire to give back to her community, she began helping students apply to universities — and quickly noticed that every student she helped got into their top choice from UCLA's Business Economics program to USC's Gould School of Law.
That's when Meri founded College Who Consulting — to demystify the U.S. college application process for students like herself, and for the families navigating it for the first time. Today she is the practice's primary consultant, personally leading every family engagement.
Meri is a member of numerous professional organization, including IECA, HECA, and WACAC.
You're not just getting someone who went through the process.
You're getting Meri, a professional.
Every family works directly with Meri — never a junior associate, never a handoff. She has personally guided more than 95 students through the U.S. admissions process and read 900+ essays, and she actively stays current on every shift in college admissions through her professional memberships.
Continually trained on how
admissions actually move.
Admissions shifts every year — testing policies, AI in essays, FAFSA changes, court decisions. Meri's three professional memberships keep her in the rooms where those changes are debated and set, so your family gets advice rooted in this cycle — not last year's.
